Good Friends and Good Times...

I am officially the worst at blogging. Some day I am gonna be able to remember to update this thing more often. A lot of time has passed since my last blog.

Last Friday I got to have a girls night with some amazing friends. We went to dinner at Chilli's and had a great time (Despite the slowest server anywhere!) Then we went to Nightmare on 13th. I know your wondering why in the world we would go to a haunted house on a girls night in the middle of November??? Well a few weeks before we had gone on a group date to the haunted house, while we were there they told us that we could come back for free on November 13th. So we ditched our husbands and headed off to brave the terrifying night together. We had so much fun. It was actually really kinda scary without our husbands. I didn't realize how much I depended on Jason at these things. But we were totally brave. (Or I'm just gonna tell you that we were)

Then back to my house to play games and have drinks. (virgin of course)

I had a lot of fun and had some great conversations. It will become a regular thing we are hoping and I can't wait til the next one.

So much has happened....

Wow I have waited way too long to do this blog. I will try to catch up. It seems like we have been so busy but as I look back not so much. Its funny how that works.

Rachael graduated. Now I realize I am young but it does seem weird that I have been graduated for 7 years. And hearing Rachael say she is class of '09 sounds totally insane to me. But we just want to tell Rachael how proud of her we are. She is turning out to be an amazing woman and it really has been fun to watch her grow up. I remember being little and asking Santa Claus every year for a little sister. Finally he came through and I am so lucky to have you as my sister. I couldn't ask for a better one. Rachael, you truly are one of the funniest people I have ever known and you are so fun to be around and you will own this world if you put your mind to it. Jason and I both love you so much and just want you to know that we are proud of you. You will always be my Baby Girl and I love you.

Then we had Rachael and My Dad's birthday. My dad is an amazing man. I have really been with my parents is seems like from the beginning and I can't tell you how much I admire my dad and all that he has done for our family. I know that sometimes it seems like we don't always notice and that we dont always appreciate you but dad we do. Dad I love you and count myself lucky to be able to have you to guide me through life. I love you and thank you for all that you have done and still do for me. I want you to know how grateful I am that you work hard for our family in many many ways. LOVE YOU DAD!!!!
Sorry it had taken me so long. Hopefully I can keep on top of this better.

Statues and Degory

I have this nephew named Degory and he is the most creative kid I have EVER met. You never know what his this awesome boy will come up with. One minute he is Captain Jack Sparrow and the next he is a Statue. For those of you who know him I know you know what I am talking about. These pictures are from Jared's wedding again but Degory decided he was a statue this night and at the temple the next day. He posed himself I just took the pictures. So enjoy looking at Degory in action. I know I did. He is hilarious!

Oh and by the way, each of these were in a different corner each time. We were at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building just outside the Roof restaraunt.

Degory is so fun to just sit back and watch. You never know where his imagination will take you and I love going where ever it is with him. He is so cute.

P.S. Degory's pants are on backwards in these pictures. Love it!!

Jared's Wedding! May 06, 2009

Jared (My brother in law) and Courtney are finally married!!! The two of them are so cute. It is weird though that there will be no more weddings in Jason's family. Jared is the last one. Courtney looked so beautiful. This is at their reception, the same place my sister in law Stacy had her reception. Its a pretty place and my neices and nephews really had fun at the pond. We had a lot of fun and Congratulations to you two!

The night before their wedding they had a dinner at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was a beautiful room and good food. But everyone knows that kids can't sit in quietly for too long before they start to entertain themselves and being that we do not have children yet it is hilarious to watch. I know its not nearly as funny to their parents but Jason and I had a really good time just watching the little ones be creative and entertain themselves. We got a lot of good pictures of these moments and I just wanted to share some of them with you. This is our neice Eliza and right as I caught her doing this I heard her mom yell "Eliza I said no feet."
I asked my nephew Christian what kind of food he was eating and this was his response. I loved it, mom and dad not so much.

This one is a classic. It was just intended to be a cute picture of my neices and nephews playing in the water instead I caught Christian drinking (thats right drinking) out of the reflecting pool. It was so funny. Again probably more funny for me then his parents.

I love this picture of Eliza, you never have to wonder how she feels about anything. My kind of girl.

Andrew had a little trouble with his pants to begin with and then he got them wet and it was downhill from there. It was so cute.

This is my favorite picture of my nieces. They were so adorable. I loved watching them twirl and dance in their princess dresses. It was so much fun to watch.

I have never seen little kids eat so many cupcakes, lemonheads and ice cream in one afternoon. I was sure one of them would puke. But I think everyone made it through. It made me a little sick just watching it though. I guess actually the girls had more frosting off the cupcakes then actual cupcakes. So cute.

We had a lot of fun at the wedding and we are really excited to add Courtney to the family! Jason's eyes are closed but everyone else (even the babies) look good. Sorry Jason, had to go with majority. Lol.

Baseball and Apple Pie

To me there is nothing in the world better that the smell of fresh cut grass and cool breezes and watching a baseball or softball game. Anyone who knows my family at all knows we spend our entire lives at baseball diamonds. I wouldn't trade that for the world. I do however think it may have been a hard transition for my poor husband, who before he met me was so lost in this world and thought baseball was not a sport. Poor fool! LOL! Love you Jason.
Last monday we were able to go to a Bee's baseball game. It was a double header and it was so much fun. We were able to go with some good friends of ours. It was really fun to see Matt and his nephew Jordan and Brandon and his family. Andrea came with Jason and I and wereally had a lot of fun.
The Bee's won both games and we really enjoyed the games. Thanks to Matt, it was a really fun thing to put together and we really had fun. I am excited for summer and spending 90% of our summer at the park watching games. I don't know what it is about my family and our obsession with baseball but its our thing. Most of my family memories are at some sort of baseball field. And it really has been an awesome thing for us to bond over. Unfortunately as Jason can tell you if you marry in or just want to spend time with us you have to be converted. I think Jason has really grown to love the game and sees why I love it so much.
To be fair, I also attend soccer games so its not totally one sided. Just a little.

Disneyland '09

Disneyland is one of those places where no matter how old you are, you can't help but feel a little like a kid again. I love going there on our vacations. I am a total dork (I know SHOCK!) but I am when we go to Disneyland.
We went in February this year and we went for an entire week. We later decided that a week was just a little too long. It was a perfect time of year to go. The weather was clear and topped out at around 65 degrees. Which for me is perfect, I know most people don't think it is. We did not have to wait in a line that was more than 10 minutes. And we didn't really use fast passes at all the whole vacation.
We left on Sunday morning and arrived at our hotel on sunday afternoon. It was definately not the nicest hotel but it was just around the corner from disneyland and we figure when you are only going to sleep there then why worry too much about how nice it is.
On Monday morning we went and did the Character Breakfast. It was so fun, whether my family wants to make fun of me or not, it was. At one point we had the Fairy Godmother, Captain Hook, Chip or Dale and Eeyore at our table. It was so fun. It was a breakfast buffet for Jason and a Disney Character thing for me. There are TONS of characters. They are all over the place. We also saw Tigger and Rafiki and Minnie and Mickey. I really enjoyed it. It is kind of expensive but totally worth doing once. We want to make that a family tradition that we do at least once every time we visit Disneyland.

We had a lot of fun and will probably go back soon. Although my next goal is to go to Disney World. I have never been there. Well I hope you enjoy the pictures of our trip!

A Whole New World

First let me preface this by saying that my sister and I are VERY different people. But I really enjoy it. We balance really well. But for example, I played softball most of my life. (most of you already know that) But my sister is far better than I ever was at softball but she has no interest at all in pursuing it. She had such a future in the game and could not care less. It killed me a little to watch so much talent just go to waste but she just has no interest. Which is fine, I have come to learn.

Yesterday my mom and sister and I went shopping for a prom dress. When I was in high school I never cared to go to dances but she loves them. We got to the store (a whole new world to me that makes no sense.) Those dresses cost so dang much. I was shocked. Almost every dress there cost more than my wedding dress including alterations and jewelry. Now I realize I got an AMAZING deal on my dress but really, why do you need to spend so much on a dress you will never wear again.

All of that ranting aside, I really had fun with it. I thought I would not enjoy it but it was so fun to watch my sister try on dresses. I think her excitement rubbed off but it was really fun to watch her try on every (and I mean EVERY) dress in the store. We even made the person working there take the dress off the manequin. She looked gorgeous in almost every one of them.

We finally found the dress. It fit perfectly and looked so great on her and I am so excited for her. Because my mom and I are not really into that stuff we don't really take girl's days very often and that is what is so great about Rachael. She brings something to our lives we would normally miss out on. I really had fun shopping with my mom and Rachael and had fun watching Rachael play dress up. I am really glad that our families are blessed to have such different personalities.

Rachael looks so beautiful in her dress and will have so much fun!!!

We Finally Gave In....

It seems like everyone these days has a blog. Don't get me wrong I love reading them. I really enjoy reading what my neices and nephews are up to, what my cousins are doing, and just reading my friends opinions. We have never really seen the need to start one, we never really thought anyone would want to know whats going on with us. We finally gave in. We are going to begin blogging. I hope you do want to read this and I hope it isn't boring but here goes nothing.

I thought it would be nice to give a small history of Jason and I. It's hard to say exactly when we met. We were both involved in student government at Salt Lake Community College. For about a year, or a year and a half we had all the same friends. Spent every day in the same office but never had a conversation. We had both heard extensively about the other though. One day in the fall of 2004 we had a conversation. I don't really remember what about, I know Jason could tell you though. But we finally had talked to each other. We began spending more and more time together (Don't kid yourself though, all of these conversations and time together happened within about a week or less). I finally invited Jason to meet some friends and I at a dance. We had our first kiss that night, October 1st. It was a whirlwind from there. By November 1st we had decided that we were going to get married. On November 19th, Jason proposed. We were married January 14th 2005. It was all very fast and our families were so great to support us during this rush of events.

Now, we live in Bountiful/Woods Cross. We do not have any children yet. Jason works for an Engineering Company called ECI (Electrical Consultants Inc.) where he is a Designer. He really enjoys working there and this job has provided many opportunities for him. We are fortunate enough that he works just a mile or so from home, he gets to come home for lunch everyday. Jason is attending school at the University of Phoenix. This school has been a great fit for Jason and he is doing really well in his classes. His major is Business Administration.

As for me I am currently kind of just at home. I work for one of my aunts (Karen) doing phone calls and clerical work. Once a week I go to the Family History Library with my aunt Tricia and do obviously family history. I love going to do this. We have such a great time and family history is such an amazing experience. I really never saw myself as someone who could be entertained or even interested at all in this enormous project. I really have grown to love it and am really loving learning where and who I come from.

One of the most interesting things about us now is that we attend a branch here in Woods Cross. It has given us some real chances to serve in ways we would normally not get a chance to. Jason is currently (and has been for the last year or so) the Elders Quorum President. I am the second counselor in the Relief Society Presidency and am in charge of enrichment activities. We love the experience and have really had some amazing missionary experiences as well. This gospel is such a wonderful work and it has been so awe inspiring to see the Lord work.

That's us in a nutshell. I hope everyone enjoys reading about us, and being involved in our lives, (however boring it is.)
